Bel (Digital Audio) Ltd, a specialist UK manufacturer of digital broadcast delay systems for over 30 years, has recently announced the release of the newly enhanced Bel 5110E broadcast profanity delay.
 
The Bel 5110 is a very well regarded delay throughout the broadcast industry, namely for its quality and reliability. In its latest incarnation the Bel 5110E offers all of the features required by broadcasters world-wide producing live programs or phone-ins, allowing quality program output to be maintained at all times at an affordable price.

The Bel 5110E provides a transparent "auto-catch-up" mode which builds up to a selected delay "on air" in real time, considerably simplifying operation. Providing from 2.5 to 40 seconds of stereo audio delay, the Bel 5110E can be configured to allow adequate time to identify and remove any undesirable program content during phone-ins or live productions. In terms of interfacing to the real world, both Analogue and AES I/O, including Analogue and Digital Cart inputs, are provided as standard.

Utilising advanced technology the "auto-catch-up" facility enables delay to be introduced in real time, allowing the program to flow without interruption. Two algorithms are available for speech or music, selectable from the optional wired remote control. The remote control also contains the "Edit" and "Delay in/out" switches. Activation of the "Edit" switch deletes the audio contained within the delay and either provides an automatic cart insert via the cart player interface, or unobtrusively reintroduces the delay. All remote functions are also available via a dedicated rear panel connector, allowing the integration of bespoke control panels.

A fail-safe bypass system is incorporated as standard in the event of power failure.

All Bel products are designed to exceed current EMC directives and are fully RoHS compliant.
