Bel release new multi-channel delay
October 2005

Bel (Digital Audio) Ltd., an established UK manufacturer of high quality professional audio equipment for broadcast and studio environments, announces the release of the new Bel 8150 multi channel delay unit.

In a world that is becoming increasingly multi channel by the day, the launch of the new 8150 audio delay unit is designed to provide an effective solution to the needs of today’s broadcasters.

Housed in a 1U stainless steal chassis, the 8150 is configured as four independent stereo pairs, each being controlled in steps of 0-15 fields. By providing four stereo channels, the Bel 8150 can provide a simple, yet effective, way of delaying multi channel audio sources. Alternatively, the unit can be installed in a fixed location, with each stereo channel being dedicated to a specific item of audio or video equipment.

Connectivity is provided in the form of both analogue and digital I/O, with the input stage being selectable between either format, while both analogue and digital outputs are available simultaneously from the rear panel.

For those situations where video editing processes cause a known and fixed delay, the new eight channel Bel 8150 Audio Synchronisation Delay provides probably one of the most cost effective solutions for synchronising audio to video.

In addition to the delay, this updated version of the popular 8000 series comprises of high quality A/D and D/A converters, enabling the 8150 to be utilised as a compact multi channel A/D or D/A converter.

As with all Bel products, the 8150 is designed to exceed current internationally recognised EMC directives.
